Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert for SaaS-hosted applications and their underlying architecture.
- Design, build, and maintain reliable and scalable infrastructure across cloud environments.
- Automate operational tasks to reduce manual toil and improve system efficiency.
- Build and maintain dashboards and monitoring systems to ensure high availability and performance.
- Perform root cause analysis for major outages and incidents, driving long-term remediation.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to support mission-critical applications.
- Maintain security compliance and configuration standards.
- Develop and maintain SRE runbooks/playbooks for production support and incident response.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with development, DevOps, and support teams to resolve critical issues.
- Lead disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Act as a mentor and technical leader within the SRE team.
Requirements
- Proven work experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or similar role, with prior DevOps or SRE experience explicitly required.
- Solid grasp of software engineering best practices and agile methodologies.
- Understanding of how services scale, fail and recover.
- Capacity to recommend architectural changes and enlist others to implement your designs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and reverse engineering discipline.
- Can learn new technologies and concepts quickly and unafraid of ambiguity.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Recognize the importance of urgency.
- Able to maintain a professional composure during pressure conditions.
- Solid understanding of ITIL and problem management processes.
- 2-4 years working with container orchestration technologies at scale.
- 2-4 years working with configuration management tools (Terraform, Puppet, Ansible).
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise monitoring and alerting tools such as New Relic, Prometheus, Datadog, or Dynatrace.
- 2-4 years debugging applications and performing defect management, including ability to debug and remediate software issues.
- 2-4 years working with cloud providers (AWS preferred, Azure acceptable).
- Strong Linux OS troubleshooting skills; Windows knowledge also valuable.
- Solid experience working with databases (writing queries and performance tuning).
- Above-average networking knowledge and troubleshooting expertise.
- Experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large distributed systems.
- Advanced English.
