Backend Developer Java/Python

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services and applications using Java and/or Python.
- Build and optimize APIs (REST and GraphQL) for large-scale, high-traffic data systems.
- Manage and process massive datasets (millions of records) efficiently in production environments.
- Implement and maintain event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar event streaming platforms.
- Optimize database performance for MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent systems, including query tuning and indexing for large datasets.
- Develop and maintain data transformation workflows using JSON, XML, and other formats.
- Leverage AWS (or other cloud platforms) to deploy scalable and resilient infrastructure.
- Ensure reliability and scalability of services through performance monitoring, load testing, and optimization.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate builds, testing, and deployments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Data Engineering, Frontend, Product) to ensure seamless integration of backend services.
- Maintain high code quality standards through reviews, testing, and adherence to best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance, scalability, and production issues in complex distributed systems.
Requirements
- Strong backend development experience in Java and/or Python.
- Proven experience working with millions of records in production environments.
- Expertise in API development (REST, GraphQL) for high-volume data systems.
- Proficiency in Kafka or other event streaming platforms for large-scale data processing.
- Strong database experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent), including query optimization and large dataset performance tuning.
- Knowledge of JSON, XML, and data transformation workflows.
- Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms for scalable infrastructure.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git version control.
- Advanced English.
- Familiarity with ACES and PIES automotive catalog standards.
- Experience integrating with marketplace APIs (Walmart API preferred).
- Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Understanding of data partitioning, sharding, and caching strategies for high-volume systems.
- Knowledge of asynchronous processing, message queues, and event-driven design.
